PHP is for the stretch of recovery when days cannot be left unstructured. You are with the clinical team through the treatment day, then you return to home or sober living at night — with a plan for those hours, not a hope.
This is the level we use after detox or residential care, and the level we recommend when evenings might be manageable but daytime still unravels.
Is PHP the right intensity?
PHP is likely the better fit if several of these are true:
- You just left a 24-hour setting and a jump straight to IOP feels thin.
- Days are the problem: idle time, isolation, or using as soon as the morning opens.
- Mood, trauma, or anxiety is loud enough that a few groups a week will not hold it.
- Someone who loves you is afraid to leave you alone from breakfast to dinner.
PHP is not the right first page if you cannot stay safe overnight, you are in active medical withdrawal, or you need continuous nursing. That is a different door. We will walk you to it instead of downgrading the problem.
What a PHP week is built to do
A partial hospitalization week is a clinical workday, not a seminar. Expect a repeating rhythm of:
- Morning arrival and check-in so the team sees how the night actually went.
- Group work that targets craving, emotion regulation, and the stories that make using feel inevitable.
- Individual sessions to personalize the plan — including trauma work when you are stable enough to do it.
- Psychiatric coordination when medication support is part of the picture.
- Family contact when you want it, on a schedule that does not ambush you.
- A written evening plan: meals, sleep, sober-living expectations, who you call if the night turns.
What we treat inside PHP
PHP at Eleven 11 is addiction treatment with mental health in the same frame. Alcohol, opioids, stimulants, benzodiazepines, and other substance use disorders are assessed alongside depression, anxiety, trauma, and the practical wreckage — work, housing, family trust. We do not promise that every psychiatric condition can be fully managed on this campus. We do promise we will not ignore the second diagnosis because it is inconvenient.
Therapies you will actually see on the calendar
The mix depends on assessment. Common building blocks include cognitive behavioral work, DBT skills for distress and relationships, motivational interviewing when part of you still wants the old life, trauma-informed pacing, and EMDR when the clinical team indicates it. Group is not filler. Individual time is not optional seasoning. If a modality is not staffed that week, we will not list it on this page.
Where you sleep
PHP assumes you have a nighttime setting that can be made safe: a prepared home or structured sober living. If the house is still using, or you cannot be alone after 6 p.m., tell admissions before we talk about start dates. Housing is often a separate cost from clinical benefits. We will say that out loud.
How PHP connects to IOP and aftercare
PHP is a chapter, not a personality. When daytime stability holds, the usual next step is IOP, then outpatient and alumni support. If things escalate, whether a lapse, a psychiatric spike, or a night that goes badly, the plan is a care transition, not a moral verdict. We would rather step you up for a week than pretend the calendar is more important than safety.
Admissions, time, and insurance
Start with a confidential call and a two-step benefits check. Bring the insurance card if you have one. Authorization length is determined by clinical need and the payer, not by a website package. Private-pay is available when that is the cleaner path.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is PHP the same as inpatient?
No. You do not sleep at the clinic. You need a safe night setting. The clinical day is intensive; it is still outpatient.
How long does PHP last?
Long enough to stabilize days and build a step-down plan. Exact length depends on assessment, response to treatment, and insurance authorization. Anyone quoting a guaranteed number of days before they meet you is selling a package, not a plan.
Can family visit or join sessions?
Family work is part of the program design when it is clinically useful and you consent. We will not turn PHP into a public family intervention without a plan.
What if I used last night?
Tell us. A recent lapse is information, not a reason to lie on a form. It may change the recommended level of care. That is the point of an assessment.

Ready to see whether PHP fits this week of your life? Talk with admissions. If you are calling for someone else, verify benefits and ask for a family consult. You will get a level-of-care recommendation — including ‘not PHP yet’ if that is the honest answer.
