Virtual Outpatient Care

Some clinical work can happen on a secure video connection. Some cannot. Virtual outpatient at Eleven 11 is for people who have already been assessed as safe enough to work at a distance — not for people hoping a laptop will replace a higher level of care.

Who virtual OP can serve

  • You are stepping down and need continuity you can keep while travel, work, or health makes campus days uneven.
  • You live in a jurisdiction where we are permitted to treat you remotely. State lines matter. We will not pretend they do not.
  • You have a private place to sit, a working connection, and enough stability that a dropped call is an inconvenience, not a crisis.

Virtual OP is not appropriate in active withdrawal, when you cannot keep yourself safe between sessions, when the home is not private enough for substance-use treatment, or when the assessment says you need PHP or residential structure. A good program will refuse the convenient format.

Privacy and logistics

Sessions run on a platform we can stand behind under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Do not join from a parked car outside work unless you understand who can overhear you. We will not put diagnostic intake fields through an ordinary consumer chat widget.

If California law or our license does not cover your location, we will say no and help you find a lawful local option rather than collect a fee for a session we cannot deliver.

How virtual sits next to on-campus care

Many people use virtual hours as part of a step-down, not as the entire treatment. You may still come to San Clemente for assessment, higher-intensity weeks, or family sessions. Hybrid plans are designed on purpose. They are not a glitch in the schedule.

Do you offer virtual IOP in every state?

No. Remote treatment follows licensure. Tell us your location first. If we cannot legally treat you there, we will not take the appointment.

PHP is a day-treatment intensity that generally belongs in person. Do not expect a full PHP to be delivered by laptop. Ask what we can actually staff remotely.

No. An admissions call is not treatment. Virtual OP is scheduled clinical care after assessment, on a privacy-appropriate platform.

Get Started With Virtual Outpatient Care

If you want virtual care because it is easier to hide, that is useful information — and a reason to talk, not a reason to enroll you at the wrong dose. Call admissions and tell us where you are, what the last month looked like, and what you are hoping the screen will do.
